Food Review: Hong Kong Street Chun Tat Kee at Punggol | One of the Best Zi Char in North-East Singapore

The Place Located at Blk 658B Punggol East Road, Hong Kong Street Chun Tat Kee is a popular Zi Char chain which has various outlets across Singapore. Thankfully, there is an outlet within a coffee shop in far flung north-east of the island. I have been here a few times, and I actually find the quality of the Zi Char dishes I had to be quite good. The coffee shop itself is relatively spacious with good ventilation, with a pretty efficient order taking system. Suffice to say, this place will be added to our list of must eats in North-East Singapore.

The Food As with most Zi Char places, there is a good variety of dishes on the menu, though I tend to stick to some of my favourites. The Prawn Paste Chicken (S$10/small), also known as ‘Har Cheong Gai’, is a must have. The fried chicken skin here is very fluffy and crispy, and is well-marinated and full of flavour.

The Sliced Fish Soup is another comforting option. I like the richness of the broth, and there is an option have the XO version if you fancy.
